Joshua Rosenblatt
September 15th to October 20th
Opening September 15th , 4pm to 7pm
Followed by a potluck
The Re Institute is pleased to present the work of Joshua Rosenblatt. With a thematic focus on people in public spaces, Joshua Rosenblatt’s upcoming exhibition at the Re Institute puts on display the artist’s close, intimate observations of emotional snapshots between people, in a single moment. In public, the subjects’ emotions are controlled, but close examination renders multiple potential stories, which are revisited and revised.
This series of large scale canvas-mounted charcoal drawings, many in non-uniform, over-lapping shapes, brings out the tension amongst the modern spaces depicted in the narratives, the organic shapes of the figures, and the artist’s rough charcoal gestures.
