Melora Griffis is a multidisciplinary artist. She primarily makes paintings, drawings, and objects which periodically include fibre aspects. She utilizes writing, performance, and video to expand on a theme. Personalized, spiritualized, energized—cave like forms hold and hide information. Darkness surrounds portals of light. A theatre in the round, humor and drama coexist at the edge of night, the break of day, and in the conundrum that lies between..

An Anonymous Artist

The curator, Brian Fernandes-Halloran, for the upstairs space, brings us an anonymous artist. This artist used a relatively new technology to separate himself from the world. The works from his 2019 lunar residency offer insights to his trans-formative experience abroad. A brief note was found in the artist's abandoned suit. “all things pull each other closer by the very force within our mass. The nature of undirected gravity offers a solution to the living planet as it acts among us. Materials: an IPhone and 87 seconds of tristate area trash. See a Video of the process here.
